Our Story
The Health Assurance Foundation, established by Hemant Taneja, is an organization committed to helping to transform the healthcare system by promoting the principles outlined in his book, UnHealthcare: A Manifesto for Health Assurance. The foundation's story revolves around its mission to shift from a reactive healthcare model to a proactive health assurance paradigm, focusing on prevention, wellness, and the use of technology to enhance patient care.
The Foundation focuses on systemic and community-based issues within the current healthcare system. We strive to create a system that ensures health rather than merely treating disease. We support initiatives and innovations that align with fostering a healthcare eco system leveraging technology, data and access.
The Health Assurance Foundation works with various stakeholders, including healthcare providers, technology companies, policymakers, and researchers to create a more integrated, equitable and accessible healthcare system.
As a Foundation we measure our success by the impact on patient health outcomes, healthcare cost, efficiency and accessibility.
As we seek to move away from a system focused on treating illness to one that ensures health we aim to improve individual access, address chronic disease and improve outcomes. We are committed to using key drivers to help transform healthcare, focusing on preventative care, treating illness and leveraging technology.
